What is Freestyle Fusion Fest?
Freestyle Fusion Fest is an exciting park-based event designed to introduce kids to alternative individual sports that blend artistry and creativity. These sports, ideal for free-spirited kids who may not thrive in traditional team settings, can be pursued competitively or recreationally. Examples include biking, skateboarding, parkour, surfing, motocross, and trampolining. These activities are affordable, accessible year-round in public spaces, and foster vibrant communities that inspire kids to express themselves creatively. Freestyle Fusion Fest offers a dynamic platform to spark kids' interest in these unique sports, encouraging them to get active and explore new passions outdoors.
Freestyle Fusion Fest offers a variety of engaging activities designed to introduce kids to alternative, creative sports. Here’s a breakdown of the activities:
Scavenger Hunt
Kids will explore the park using their chosen mode of transport (bike, skateboard, scooter, or walking). They’ll visit stations dedicated to each featured sport, where professional athletes and qualified representatives provide insights, helping kids gain a deep understanding of each activity. After visiting all stations, kids will collect validation stickers to celebrate their journey.
Skateboarding Demo
Coach Nick Merlino, a 20-year professional skateboarder from Rocket Power Academy, will host a skateboarding demonstration. Local talented skateboarders will showcase their skills on a mobile skatepark, inspiring kids with impressive tricks and techniques.
Extreme Trampolining Demo
Rocket Power Academy will bring mobile Super Trampolines to the park, where coaches will perform high-flying flips and tricks. Kids can try out the trampolines with coaches available to spot them, offering tips and guidance to help them get started with basic flips.
Slacklining
Slacklines will be set up for kids to test their balance and try walking across. Coaches will demonstrate proper techniques and provide support, making it a fun and accessible introduction to this unique activity.
